What is CBG?

Cannabigerol (CBG) is a minor cannabinoid present in cannabis plants, it is lesser known to its counterpart CBD but early indications show there are other benefits to CBG. In most strains only about 1% of CBG can be found however new strains are being developed to produce a higher percentage of CBG. Like CBD, it does not provide the high sensation of THC. Early indications show CBG has therapeutic effects in regulating sleep and pain relief. Some studies have shown that it may have a role in regulating blood pressure.

There have been some promising animal studies showing that CBG may help in treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Glaucoma, Huntington’s disease, and fighting colon cancer. However, compared to CBD & THC, research into CBG is still in its earlier stages and more research is needed to fully understand the benefits of CBG.
